Sometimes our past causes us to move forward and find our future. Megan’s past caused her to make drastic changes including leaving her job and Atlanta and move to a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. She literally runs into Lee Grainger. Their paths cross in ways that initially consist of mishaps and misunderstandings.

Fortunately, they find their way together to clear up the misunderstandings. The author describes the scenery in beautiful language that drew me into the story,

This story includes Megan finding the love and forgiveness that God offers along with the grace to forgive herself. The ending of this story provides the perfect conclusion. I love almost all the characters in this book.

So check out this story of finding a relationship with God along with forgiveness and Grace. Truly, this book moved me.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This has been a very emotional read for me. I immediately liked Megan. Running from her past she finds herself in a wonderful little town. The beautiful but simple cabin she bought was very inviting. Maybe she could find a way to start over and find peace with in herself. It was nice getting to see her story unravel slowly as the author opens her past one step at a time. I was able to understand why Megan couldn’t trust and knew she needed to deal with her past. She was easy to relate to because like her we probably all have something from our past we are ashamed of.

Lee is a wonderful character with a heart of gold. He is honest, caring and loves God. I liked that he was a vet and dedicated his life to helping animals. One of the highlights of the book was being introduced to Sir. What a big lovable dog he is. The only thing that bothered me about his part in the story was I never found out how he got hurt. I wanted to know who was so mean that they would hurt an innocent animal.

Lee and Megan start slowly getting to know each other. They both have things in their past that keep them from sharing their feelings for each other. Abandonment, trust issues and lies will come between this couple. The story was very well written and I loved witnessing the change in Megan especially. The past always has a way of catching up with us. The author delivers a journey through forgiveness that helps the characters find peace. There is no greater gift than to give your heart to Jesus and I was overjoyed reading how a certain character found their way to not only forgive but to trust and find love.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
