A collection of very short stories exploring feelings such as not getting worried, being happy with who you are, and having confidence.

Sammy has a big family and they all live together on the same tree. Logically, it can get a bit crowded and the little squirrel never really has any time and space for himself. Sammy had enough of it, he wants his peace and quiet and has decided to move to his own place.
Problem is, first he needs to find a suitable home and that proves to be quite difficult. There's always something which bothers him, until he comes across a hollow log and Sammy feels comfortable to settle there.
Suddenly the weather changes and there's a thunderstorm with thunder and lightning. Sammy feels very scared and now isn't that keen anymore to be all by himself.
But then he hears a familiar voice, his mum is outside the log. She has been looking for Sammy and he feels so relieved to see her.
Will Sammy go back to the tree where his family lives? Will the little squirrel find his true home?

We all know the situation, no matter how much we love our family, they can get on our nerves sometimes and we wish we would have a place just for ourselves. Children will easily understand how Sammy feels, when his sister accidentally drops a chestnut on his head. Of course, siblings get in each other's way from time to time. But they will also understand, why living with a family has its advantages and that the real home for all of us is where our heart is, no matter how crowded the house/tree. The people, who are there for us, when we need them and when we feel lonely. The place where we feel save and loved.
Bright and colourful pictures, together with the warm hearted story and Sammy going to have his nap at the end of it, make the book an ideal bedtime read. I'm looking forward to read more Little Chestnuts Stories.

5 starshaped chestnuts for Sammy.
