Harvey's Revised English Grammar book came as only a slight disappointment to me. I got this book because I just plainly suck at English. Try as I might, I just can't get it together. I started off taking notes in this book and doing the exercises. I gave up when I realized that I couldn't correct my work and had no idea if I was doing anything right. In the end a good section of this book, the lessons, ended up being useless to me. Since I couldn't correct anything, how would I know if I got the concept? I really wish that they had put in an answer key for those of us using the book at home. As is, it was a book that the teacher was to use, giving oral lessons on how to present the information and all. Why not add in the answers too?

But it is not as if I didn't take anything away from the book, I did. It was just a bit hard to practice what I took away. Another note, the book is a bit dry since it is dated. Not and exciting read but an informative one at the least. Though, I must admit that I've read books on the subject that I like much better.… (plus d'informations)
