I thought this a really good book (and not just because the author was about the same age as me and from the same part of the country). The author was very candid about her feelings, in which she had many highs and lows,.and is able to write about it in an entertaining way.
She embarks on an experiment trying out a different colour wigs for a week at a time (and one week of without one) recording how she was treated by others, and how it effected her attitude and self-esteem Forcing herself to go out every night as part of her experiment, after having been a recluse for so long was a difficulty that had to be overcome; being 'disguised' helped, but eventually the author realizes she can handle it just being herself.… (plus d'informations)
