I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good adventure story geared towards young female readers. You don’t have to be into castles and dragons in order to have a good time reading this, but it doesn’t hurt if you do.

While heavy on emotion and characterizations, the violence is kept to a minimum, and the subject matter stays tame. Essentially, it’s just a clearly written, well-told story with a good message and relatable characters.

I recommend Charmayne Hafen’s Journey to Twilight series to young readers who love books about traveling to new worlds and dimensions while still exploring real life conflicts about friendship, family, and growing up. Book 1 is my favorite of the three. You can read my full review of the series here: https://laurasbooksandblogs.com/land-of-twilight-trilogy-review/

This turned out to be a very good book. I wasn't sure how I would feel reading a Christianity based fantasy book at first but it did flow nicely. I did find a few continuity issues though which always frustrates me.

*I received a copy of this book for free. The review is my own, honest and unsolicited.

As a child, our family moved almost every 4 years like clock work, so i know what it is like to be the new girl. It is hard to fit in, especially when almost everyone else has lived in the same place their entire lives. So I could appreciate how Lorna yearned to fit in even though I did not have to deal with my parents divorcing while I was a child.
This fantasy book for nine to twelve years olds has a lot to teach. For example, an act of kindness to someone younger than you can bring rewards to you – even that is not why you did the act in the first place.
Also, sometimes the person you think is mean initially can turn out to be someone worth knowing. Also, the one thing you think you desire most is not necessarily what you would wish for if you could have one wish granted.
Also, being transported to a land where everything is different from what you know adds an interesting dimension to this story.
So check this book out for yourself. It is definitely worth reading.
I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.
