This wonderfully written and illustrated book is a multi-layered introduction to mathematical pattern language offered in poetic form, for younger children. Dr. Seuss would be proud.

You and your children will be charmed by the story of young Miss Tessa as she plays outside before dinner, and becomes enchanted with all the patterns in the natural world to be found in her very own backyard. Don't be surprised to find your kids want to explore their own backyard more often after hearing about how much fun Tessa has.

The author, Emily Grosvenor, mother, columnist, Board member for the Terroir Creative Writing Festival and fragrance expert, even includes an exercise in making tessalation patterns for you and your children to use and enjoy. This would be a great addition to any Home Schooler's classroom, Daycare facility, or children's area of any doctor's or dentist's office. The vibrant colours and gorgeous illustrations by artist Maima Widya Adiputri entice even the littlest ones to look for Tessa in the pictures on every page, and the poetic rhythm moves the story along at the perfect pace to keep everyone engaged and entertained right up to the happy ending.

I am so impressed with this book that I am buying copies for all of my friends with children and grandchildren in the 2-7 year old age range. You can be the hero of your circle too. Who doesn't love a friend who gets her Christmas shopping done early for her?

Do yourself and your little ones a favour and pick up a copy of this book now.
