Well it got off to a rocky start with the main character being incredibly unlikable.

The fact that Lane had murderous thoughts was really laboured at the beginning of the novel and the way she spoke about her sister's sexual behaviour was utterly atrocious. I don't know precisely when I started enjoy our little psychopath, but she really did grow on me. I thought the case was actually pretty engaging with a sufficient amount of intrigue and suspects to keep me turning the pages. It is a very short book but definitely packs a punch. There are some pretty gruesome, violent and disturbing deaths so I will be sure to give appropriate warnings. NZ senior high school students only.… (plus d'informations)
