I think it's a complete book about hypothyroidism, how to prevent it, and how to "beat" it. But for me, this book is too technical. I don't know many vocabularies in this book because it's medical vocabularies, and the writer do not explain more about that vocabularies. It will great if this book wrapped in popular language so ordinary people like me can understand more about this topic.

Since I am currently teaching on being fabulously fit from another book during Bible Study, I had to read another diet-nutrition-weight loss book to add more info, especially for those who have certain ailments aside from the normal. There are women who may have Polycystic Ovarian Symptom (PCOS) and need to find out how to live healthier lives regardless of their symptom(s).

Caroline points out that with PCOS has a body resistance to lose weight due to lack of insulin. Therefore, she recommends that you are familiar with your glycemic index or know your blood sugars to see future weight loss, or at least not gain anymore. Moreover, she adds that exercise to avoid excessive weight and also helps prevent associated illnesses like high blood pressure and diabetes. To add, proper nutrition with exercise to be successful. This may help with a normal cycle and have balance with your symptoms.

She encourages to set realistic goals and see the difference of possible unrealistic goals. We should do this as a life-goal and accept constant changes. We start out with minimal changes, like a sprint than running a marathon. She also encourages to achieve these milestones towards your goal and remember to have one day of rest.

Last but not least, she has recipes at the end of the book and I love smoothies also provides label information. I may try some of these suggested meals.

*I received an eBook version from the author for a review based on winning a copy from LibraryThing Early reviewer contest.

I found this book to be incredibly informative and useful. I have members of my family who suffer from this ailment who I know will benefit from this book greatly. The information that was provided is invaluable. I think the book was written very well. The only drawback I have are about the organization and set up of the book. The font is very distracting in that it makes it hard to focus. It is also difficult to delineate from one section to the next, everything shouldn't be bold. There are no page numbers which is unfortunate when you're trying to locate a specific section, the pages seem to just run-on which makes it hard to read. Important parts should be more evident with bold or italic lettering. Despite typography issues I would recommend this book.… (plus d'informations)

This book doesn't just tell you what to do, it tells you how to do it. The author doesn't just tell you to exercise, she provides an exercise program. Likewise with the diet, she provides recipes.
Would have been helpful if she had included a list of foods with their glycemic index numbers as well, but all in all the author has put forth a good effort to help those with PCOS.
