This book spends 94 pages discussing equipment, firewood, and technique for hearth cooking. The recipes tell you what equipment to use and how hot the coals should be. It includes bread recipes for th eDutch oven. The cornbread recipe says to line the bottom with maple leaves to prevent burning. This is the best book in my collection for actual fire cooking.
