I first started to actually read the book but then switched over to the audiobook version so i could finish the book by the time my reading group was meeting to discuss.

I was quite excited to read the first few pages and realized that one of the characters “Morgan” was actually in her 50s. I did welcome this as most books of that genre I have encountered are about the younger generation, so this was quite welcome.
One thing I did not care for at all, and thankfully it did not occur that often was the mention of the pandemic.
I have found the book to have a very good start but for started to fizzle out by midpoint and I could not wait to be finished. I was quite glad to have listen to the audiobook.

I liked Morgan quite well as she seemed to “know’ and has a calm demeanor. And I love the fact that the vicar has an open mind about the things Morgan does. Erin, Erin though, one cannot help but feel sorry for her. Being adopted into a family that seems to value proper education and stable studies over fine arts and expect that the woman’s place is at home. And Erin’s character is quite sensitive . All of a sudden she is being thrust into a world she knows nothing off, when her birth grandmother leaves her the cottage she was living in. Erin starts to feel right at home in the cottage, feeling a a connection straight away. When her adoptive family finds out where exactly Erin is they are trying to convince to come back home. This was the first time that Erin stood up for herself.

Overall, I have felt that the story fell a bit short and dragged out and Erin’s character was quite flat and uninteresting.
