The author creates a nice mood right off the bat — very important for a story of this brief length — and we are swept along for twenty pages dense with atmosphere and story. A bit of humor is sprinkled for us along the way as well.
This definitely has a Ghost Whisperer kind of vibe as a wealthy but likable social media tycoon buys an old mansion and soon discovers it is haunted by the ghost of Thelma Todd. Having a gift to help the dead crossover he has learned to live with, he does some research on the star while he waits for her sporadically appearing spirit to become strong enough to speak.
Though that might sound dark and spooky, it is actually warm and, at times, almost tender. A hat and dress which belonged to Thelma help resolve the mystery, but to reveal more might ruin the story for others. It is short, just a filler between other more substantial reads, but it leaves the reader with a good feeling. Probably 3.5 but I'll round up. I enjoyed this surprising find and hope to see more from this heretofore unknown — at least to me — writer.… (plus d'informations)
