This book is written by a divorce attorney, and illustrated by a teacher. Both are men. The author decided to write a myth. His rationale was that a child can interpret the story however it fits his/her reality. Reader response theory? The book contains therapeutic questions that allow for self-expression and healing. The book is beautiful and rooted in nature. I tells the story of the sun and the moon being inlove and creating a little girld named Grace. Just like the sun sets and the moon comes out, then the moon goes away and the sun rises, this is how the parents are. They are never together. Grace is with one, then the other. In my opinion this makes it seem more "normal" for the daughter to spend time with one at a time vs both. I like this book, and It addresses all the different emotions that children who are the product of divorce, go through. I also feel like a lot of thought and consideration was put into this book. It would be a nice gift for any friend in this situation, who wants to bring up the topic of divorce in an organic way.… (plus d'informations)

Woven throughout the well-written story is a powerful message of comfort and hope for Grace, and for kids everywhere. The creative characters, plus many warm illustrations will help children who may be hurting and confused, trying to understand why one day their parents are together and then they're not. Feelings are important and divorce is a huge adjustment for Grace feeling like a burden, especially when her Dad (Sun) and Mom (Moon) won't stop fighting. Do they still love her? Can she love them both?

The authors provide excellent, engaging questions in the back of the book to help parents and their children deal with issues of respect so that no one gets lost and all feel safe. You'll find a new, meaningful perspective that will empower families with love and support in their relationships with one another. I love the book! Beautiful and engaging!
