Because she does not like the music the school’s loudspeaker plays every morning, Janey convinces her best friend Ciel to join her in forming a student radio. They are soon joined by popular brat Tara who decides to be the publicity manager. The girls sign on a kid named Skate to be the DJ, and Roland, who never does anything right, as the engineer. A guy named Sandy starts out in the sidelines, but eventually becomes one of the group. The book describes the adventures these teens go through as they work on building their radio station.
