The Mandalorian Din Djarin and his young ward Grogu join forces with Bo-Katan Kryze and other Mandalorians in their quest to finally retake Mandalore. Meanwhile, Moff Gideon and other Imperial remnants are plotting a darker, more sinister threat.

The phenomenon of The Mandalorian has returned for its third season, which, in my opinion, was the most inconsistent of the bunch. The first season had a constant tone, whereas the second did as well, throwing in a lot more cameos and connective tissue to the rest of the saga. This season, however, felt disjointed, not only in tone but also story. The main quest of the entire season was to retake Mandalore, and that's never really seen until the final two episodes. We also lack, yet again, the consistent threat of a real villain. Moff Gideon is alluded to throughout, but -- once again -- only pops up for the final bit of the season. By no means is this season bad, and it is certainly a step above The Book of Boba Fett, but it just lacks that same "oomph" that the previous two seasons did. Ultimately, it does what it set out to do -- it takes us on the quest to reclaim Mandalore, with a fair bit of emotional moments throughout -- but it doesn't have quite the same lasting effect as other installments in the series. That being said, the "horrible lows" that some people allude to (such as the cameo-fest that is Chapter 22) are not nearly as bad as others make them out to be. All in all a fun outing in the universe, just a bit of a step back from previous seasons. Still recommended for fans of the saga, of course.

Content Concerns: The usual violence expected with Star Wars; characters are killed by blasters, lightsabers, explosions, and giant creatures. Language is kept to a minimum, with just 1 profanity used in Chapter 21.

Light-hearted, surreal, and well done despite some rather strange special effects. Will Ferrell is almost believable as the oversized elf who learns that he is human and wreaks havoc in a New York department store.

Exciting towards the end, amusing in several places, and even a little poignancy. The contrast is well made between workaholics who ignore their families and those who love to work and also love life and people. Rating PG due to a few minor swearwords and innuendoes; but perhaps of more concern to some parents is the questions raised about the reality of Santa.
