The introductory words indicate an original publishing date of 1882 for this prime example of the branch of erotic literature that may be called 'erotic chastisement'. The story presented is constructed around the chastisement in a Victorian Girls' School of a mature girl – Miss Bellasis - found guilty of serious theft. It is in two parts, describing first the scenario and circumstances of the crime and its detection, and then the punishment itself, together with its consequences. Miss Sinclair, the middle-aged Headmistress, is not initially given to the practice of corporal correction of her young charges, despite the encouragement of her friend, the Reverend Calvedon, but she feels that the gravity of the present offence requires severe correction, and three birch rods are duly fabricated and worn out by application to Miss Bellasis' nether regions. Subsequently, with the active participation of Mr Calvedon, she becomes an enthusiastic convert to correction. The erotic interest in the book starts slowly, but gathers pace as Miss Sinclair starts to enjoy herself. It's not particularly well written (or edited), but nevertheless it achieves the goal required of the sub-genre, and it does so with some considerable humour.… (plus d'informations)
