I had some concern that this book would be just a hagiography. I need not have worried. I learned about their trials. They did not lead easy lives.

Joan of Arc was aware she would die because of her work, yet she persisted, even when frequently betrayed by the court, and even by the king whom she cause to be enthroned. This unlearned girl gave powerful answers to the trick questions of her inquisitors.

All of the chapters were quite moving, but I was choked up as I read about Mother Teresa.

One of the best!

This is a well-written, engaging and thoughtful biography of Luther. One of the best I have read! Probably a best bet if you have never read any biography of Luther.

Yet another beautifully illustrated book by Nancy Tillman I think I've read all of the books in this series, and this completes the goal of completion.

I've often said that I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler, and therefore when I see such lush illustrations, I am in awe.

As the title notes, this is a story of adult animals, softly repeating the same phrase in order to bring about sleep.

As with all this artist's books, the illustations carry the story.
