Arthur W. Epstein

A scrappy little locally-published book by a New Orleans author about the struggles of a man who has a fear of bridges. If I remember correctly, his shrink assigns him the task of walking across it, and helps him get a job on the other side of it, so that he'll have to cross it almost daily. The dude takes this job, becomes wealthy, and begins an affair with a woman.
