I admit, the cover and premise of this book sounded hokey, but the reviews on amazon made it sound actually kind of fun, and it was free the day I looked at it, so I gave it a shot.

It *is* hokey, but it's cute: a story about an guardian angel who's in training to be a dog. This follows her training journey: if you want to hear about her adventures on earth apparently you'll need to get the other books in the series. Our heroine's a little simple, and the prose matches that, as if this is written for very early readers, so I'm not sure if it's meant to be a read-aloud with kids or what. Still, the premise was charming enough that I suffered through the prose, and the sweet (if cheesy) story was good enough to carry me through.

I'm not sure this would have been worth list price to me, but if you're looking for a sappy little story about the angel who wants to be a puppy, it's a lot more fun than I expected.
