She’s Gone is the heartfelt story of Jolie, a runaway trying to follow her ideals during the civil unrest of the 1960s. When Jolie flees home with Will, her much older boyfriend, she finds herself caught-up in communes, anti-war protests, and an underground news press. The author vividly recreates this turbulent time taking us from the West Coast to the East Coast as the couple tries to stay ahead of the police. Then Will starts to show a darker side, and Jolie has to find her own way. The struggle of a young woman on the run with a man she doesn’t know as well as she thinks she does still resonates today. This is a well-written, touching first novel with memorable characters. I look forward to more from this author.… (plus d'informations)
