Ian J. Elmer

Elmer writes well and convincingly of the often bitter conflict that divided Paul from the Jerusalem elders, James in particular. While I remain unconvinced of a common anti-Paul front I agree with much of the rest of this well-argued and eloquent thesis. The miracle remains that Paul's letters were retained by the Christian community: why? Perhaps that should be Elmer's next question!
