The book is small, and the author claims that, after learning the script (this book assumes you know the script already, though there is a surprisingly good description on reading - where the "built in" A sound is actually skipped, which place the stress goes etc) you can cover his material - 50 lessons - in 50 days. Each lesson introduces a grammar point and some vocabulary. Grammar point is quickly explained, and the vocabulary comes from the many example sentences given to illustrate the point.
The lessons mostly deal with various tenses, and these are reasonably well explained, though maybe not good enough for a total beginner. Vocabulary introduced is very random, don't expect to emerge from this with a set of most useful words.
The book isn't good and isn't bad, as an example of an Indian made language textbook it's even on the better side of the bunch, but the main problem seems to be that it has a very uncertain place in the world of language books. It's neither a proper textbook, nor does it cover enough material to be a grammar book.
