Robert Downes

Windigo Moon gives an amazing look at the lives of an Ojibwa tribe from upper Michigan in the late 1500s/early 1600s. I enjoyed Downes style of writing; at times it felt like I was hearing the stories around a winter fire. Ashagi and Misko have a great love story despite the struggles they both endured. I also loved the use of the native names and language for the people, places, and things throughout the novel, as well as the language guide included at the beginning of the book.
