During his thirty-two years of military service Fred Doucette served on six overseas missions, including a year-long tour in Sarajevo, Bosnia, where he was wounded in 1995. In 2002 he was medically released from the army for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Afterwards, Fred was employed as a afficher plus civilian Peer Support Coordinator, assisting soldiers and veterans with their service-related psychological injuries. What was most enjoyable was that this book was not written by a General or a reporter, but a private soldier basically working on this own. It is a great insight into the less glamourous side of peacekeeping
