Steve Dickinson

This is a police procedural set in Budapest during early covid. It follows a hard-working female detective trying to catch a serial killer, while working in an antagonistic “man’s world”. There are also two subplots involving her personal life.
Touching on mid-20th century Hungarian history, the book was (interestingly) inspired by the author’s visit to the House of Terrors in Budapest. This is an interesting, fast read right from the start.
