- Deng Xiaoping was a Chinese politician who was instrumental during the Chinese Civil War and later led the People's Republic of China (PRC) during the economic reforms of the 70s and 80s. Although suppressed by Mao and the Gang of Four for being a capitalist roader, the PRC has since grown to be the largest economy.
