Short and to the point, and pretty good. The structure of the book surprised me, as I expected to see more on our acts of adopting and the first three quarters or so is much more focused on framing a theology of adoption, with the focus on God's adopting us. That's important, so I'm glad it was there; it just wasn't how I expected the book to go.

The authors do a wonderful job at exploring the theology behind the believer's adoption into God's family. I recommend this book as a way to understanding what it means to be adopted into the Kingdom and then define what that means in our day to day life. The book as a whole was great, but John Piper's ending chapter made the read. He pulls all the heady doctrine and theological, nicely into the practical.

“One way to look at adoption is to see it as God’s work to free us from the insanity and duplicity of our idolatry.” p 21

The last two chapters then take that into the realm of horizontal adoption - orphan care as a mission of the church.… (plus d'informations)
