The amount of work put into this piece is simply astonishing. There is no doubt when reading this that the author is truly passioned about his line of work, when you look at the minute attention paid to every detail. Unfortunately those details tends to become so minute that I felt they would have fitted better in an appendix - the natural flow of the Oscar Schindler story got interrupted a lot and I felt sidetracked often.

As a side note, I read this on Kindle, and it’s obvious there was made absolutely no attempt to optimize the book for this device, as hyphens and other typographical errors appeared on virtually every page.

Other than that, this seems to be the definite source I would recommend to anybody interested in the Schindler story.

Addresses numerous moments in the book and film, [Schindler's List], that were incorrectly recounted, either--in good cases--simplifying the script to make the film easier to follow, or--in bad cases--leaving out or distorting important parts of the story that provide a truer picture of this flawed but heroic man and the later suffering in his life.

Until I figured out the approach of the author, I had a hard time getting into it. Soon found it fascinating.

This is the true story of Oskar Schindler, not the romanticized version of Schindler's List, with many interesting details of his early life and post-war experiences that are not found in the other book. A good example is that a movie was to be made about his wartime experiences in the early 1960s, but unfortunately the deal fell through.
