This is the story of a school bus on its way to school going across town. Lots of imagery and not so many words.

A clever idea, but harder than I realized for young children: E is for embers, J is jack-o'-lantern. Each two-page spread has today on the left and tomorrow on the right; I covered the right side and had kindergartners guess what the word would be. For example, A is for seed---tomorrow's apple.

Edit to add: we have a physical copy of this book, and the story was so forgettable that I didn't remember that I had read this in the Treasury. Like others have said, it's a good beginner story, and the art is beautiful.
