Donald Crews took a mode of transportation and turned it into a fun story. He goes through the steps of flying like boarding and taxiing to the runway. Then he talks about the different types of areas you fly over such as mountains or cities. I think kids would really enjoy this book because if they have never been on a plane before they get to see what it would be like and for kids that have been on a plane it would be fun to guess to see whats next. Once again, Donald Crews takes something from everyday life (flying), but, adds a sprinkle of wonder through his illustrations, and it feels like an adventure. Mr. Crews uses a simplistic drawing style, but through lines and bright colors to grab the attention, the book keeps the attention and brings the reader and anyone listening on the journey with him. I read this book to one of the kids I babysit as his "book before bed" and he loved it. ( )
