I don't have a boat, have only been on a sailboat once for a couple of hours, and live in the middle of North America. You should bear that in mind when considering this review.

So, sailboats are my "happy place". Sailing How-To's take me there, but they have to be well-written and not insulting and they have to be understandable by a landlocked inhabitant of fantasy-land. This one meets the bill. There's lots of instruction and I have no idea whether or not it is valuable to an actual sailor, but it FEELS like it is and that's good enough.

The Kindle edition is readable, but the print version apparently has lots of insets and asides and these don't translate to eBook format well. They could, if the publisher went to the expense, but none of then do. If you're going to actually use the book on a boat, get the print version.
