- Courte biographie
- John completed his BA. degree at Daniel Baker College in 1928. He taught in public school for five years and completed a M.A. degree in English Literature at Texas Tech University. He taught for two years at Harding Christian College in Searcy, Ark. John became interested in the science of meteorology and studied on his own until 1939 when he began a career with the U. S. Weather Bureau. By 1954 he was named Director of the Meteorological Department of the Army's Electronic Proving Ground at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. In 1959 John became Chief Signal Officer of the Dept. of the Army in Washington, D.C.
During his declining years, John and his wife, Ernestine, became deeply involved in teaching by correspondence in the World Bible School program. He was always amazed and encouraged that so many, especially in Africa, were interested in studying the Bible by correspondence.
