Fall to Grace par Kerry Casey
I loved this book. It's a first novel with some of the pitfalls of that category, but the imagery stays with you long after you're done reading it. The story of two teens whose friendship is born in shared tragedy was a story I couldn't put down. A memorable novel which would have done better with the backing of a major house. Definitely recommended!
A complex story that starts with two 13-year old boys losing their fathers on the same day, and which follows them, a priest, one of the widows, and the sherrif of Baudette, MN for over a decade as they struggle with loss, doubt, faith, alcohol, and Minnesota's cold. It touches on themes of the relationships between fathers and sons, hockey, winter, loss, mothers and sons, potential, redemption, sin, and secrets.
