Stephen Paul Campos

About Face is a true account of one mans journey to hell and back. In 1968 determined to turn his life around Stephen Campos enlists in the army thinking it would keep him out of Viet Nam. Instead he serves a one year tour of combat duty in an unforgivable land, praying to stay alive and make it home. But once home Mr. Campos gives us a look at how it felt to be forgotten by your country, the indifference of some friends and the anger of others because he fought in the war.

This story was written from the heart. Throughout the book I was moved to tears. Mr. Campos needed to tell his story and we need to read it. I received this book from LibraryThing Member Giveaway for an honest review and I highly recommend this book. It was an honor and a privilege to read this story. In every war soldiers are welcomed home as heroes...well no, there is an exception. The Vietnam War/conflcit where men were trained to kill, and to protect themselves and each other. They came home and were treated like dirt for the most part, and not much care was given to their mental adjustment to 'normal life'. Well, this author has written a book from his heart. I don't think he would be a contender for being the most sauve sophisticated writer but he would get top billing for reaching out, telling his story, for simply caring.
