Cadogan's Crimea par George Cadogan
This book is a densely packed and very comprehensive history of one of the Western World's greatest defeats. Mismanaged by French and British Officers from day one until the bitter end, the death toll from disease exceeded battle casualties significantly. There are more readable books but the poignant watercolors are worth the effort.

jamespurcell | 1 autre critique | May 11, 2024 | A well written account of the British army in the Crimea, which would have been easier to follow with better maps. The pictures were drawn by one officer and the account by a second and then paired up more than a century latter. A very good first person account of the campaign.
