When I started reading I was a bit apprehensive as I thought there was a bit to much opinion. However I really enjoyed this book and thought that by the end that was not a problem. The book concerns Beaumarchais who wrote the plays, The Barber of Seville and The Marriage of Figaro, hence the title. He also supported the American Revolution and set up a company to get supplies to the American revolutionaries. This is not a biography of the man, it instead details his involvement in the American Revolution. I liked that it gave details on the French involvement, particularly on these secret supplies. Surprisingly there were a few moments were I could not help but laugh at how absurd things were. If you are interested in the American Revolution I highly recommend this book as it will highlight things that I have not seen anywhere else.… (plus d'informations)
