Courte biographie
He trained in the wool trade from 1909. During training for World War I he contracted diptheria from which he developed paralysis. He married Marie‐Eugénie Bull at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Westgate, Bradford on 19 September 1927. During World War II he worked in the RAF Intelligence Branch. In 1945 he and his wife bought Whitfield House Hotel in Darnholme which they ran until 1951. After brief spell in rented flat in London, they bought 11 Acomb Road, York. In 1954 they returned to Bradford.
