Bob Brockie

Bob Brockie is an old-school natual historian with a wide and deep knowledge of New Zealand plants and animals, and decades of observations of occurrences, flowering times, and anecdotesd. He's unfortunately now a bit of a GORS (grumpy old retired scientist), but back in 1997 produced this delightful field guide to New Zealand urban wildlife, with over 300 of his own watercolour illustrations. It's particularly strong on the much-overlooked but fascinating introduced weeds of margins and waste ground. A book I would have adored as a child.… (plus d'informations)
