Not a lot of people are familiar with the story of the British Home Children, although they should be. The story is a sad blemish in Canada's and Britain's history. This book is a compilation on the true stories of some of these children. It hit home personally for me, because my grandmother, my grandaunt, my great grandmother, and my great grandaunt were Home Children. This book was a difficult read for me, because of the personal connection. There were times when I actually had to set the book aside for awhile because it was difficult for me to continue reading. That will not be the case for everyone, but it is an important book, in my opinion, and deserves to be read.
