Killing O’Reilly is classic parody, reminiscent, or should I say redolent, of the old National Lampoon, with a large dollop of the old MAD magazine. It’s razor sharp, to the point, and accurate. It is instantly familiar. It has cutesy footnotes that are supposed to be writer’s notes to staff. And it’s brief. Because any more of this any you’d throw the book against the wall except it’s an e-book. Someone needs to look into that. We have our rights. No one should be able to take that away from us. Look it up.

Once, Bill O’Reilly appeared on The Colbert Report, and excused all his extremist tossoffs by claiming “It’s all an act.” Stephen Colbert was so stunned he left character for a moment, saying “If you’re an act, what does that make me? What am I?” So here come the Bowmans with a parody of a parody. It works.
