I have been enslaved by hummingbirds. It's true. They work me to death. When I come home from the office, the first thing I do is check the six feeders to see which ones need replenishment. Then, I run into the house to start the nectar creation process, worried that I won't hit my deadline. During migration season, my life is hell, as I clearly fall short of hummer expectations. This year, 2012, has been a season of extra hummingbirds as they altered their routes due to western wildfires and have congregated in California. Typical tourists.

This is a very slim volume about the enslavers, but quite useful to have on hand when yet another newbie flies in and I have to figure out which hummer has come to harass me. The book will provide help with feeding and how to plant for the little monsters. There really is nothing quite like having an out-of-state hummingbird dictate the standards in my garden. The least they can do is pay taxes.
