Heidi Bostic is Professor of French and Chair of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages at Baylor University. She holds a PhD in French from Purdue University and a Diplme d'tudes Approfondies en Sciences du language from the cole des Hautes tudes en Sciences Sociales. A former Fulbright afficher plus Scholar, she was previously Associate Professor of Romance Languages and Gender Studies at Michigan Technological University. Rooted in cultural and intellectual history, Bostic's research examines women's subjectivity in feminist theory and literature. She contributes to critical discussions that question the universal masculine subject, reexamine the definition of Enlightenment thought, and acknowledge women as philosophers. These aims are expressed in her research and publications on contemporary feminist theory, notably the work of philosopher Luce Irigaray. Bostic's publications in eighteenth-century studies, including articles on Graffigny, Riccoboni, and Charrire, establish links with twenty-first-century questions. afficher moins
