Animal Architects would be perfect as an informational tool for higher elementary and lower middle school Science classes. It's a great source of information on how animals in the wild create their living space and how it helps them survive the trials of life. I believe this would go well with teaching about a certain ecosystem and what lives within it or a great source for an assignment on these specific animals. I found this book to be very interesting as it included many animals like a beave, monarch butterfly, and the honey bee, which was my favorite part as I love them!… (plus d'informations)

This book, Animal Architects: Amazing Animals Who Build Their Homes by Julio Antonio Blasco, is an informational text that tells readers about the different shelters that animals create for themselves. This book is packed with vocabulary and detailed illustrations to help readers better visualize and understand the homes made by the animals. Along with information about the homes, the book also teaches the basics about the featured animals.
I really like this book because it is packed with great information and could be a great resource to learn more about animals and the homes they live in.
I would use parts of this book at a time, for example, if we were learning about beavers I would read the beaver page to my class to give more information about beaver homes. If I had older students, I would let them use this book as a resource to do research about different projects and even integrate some engineering and art by challenging them to replicate the homes made by the animals.

This gorgeous informational picture book will engage readers of all ages. The book explains how various animals are resourceful architects who build their homes. There are fourteen different animal sections like the African weaver bird, monarch butterfly, termite, leafcutter ant, beaver, honeybee, and African tree frog. Each animal has a fold-out feature that explains the materials needed and time frame that the animal constructs their particular home whether it be a nest or underground garden. The text also features bold words, animal characteristics section, and a how it’s built section. This book has a lot of teaching potential, especially for animal science units.… (plus d'informations)
