Hawker: Aviator, Designer, Test Pilot par L.K. Blackmore
Traces the life of the Australian aviator, recounts how he founded his own aircraft company, and describes his tragic death at age thirty-two. Australian aviation pioneer & motorcycle racer. He was the chief test pilot for Sopwith and was also involved in the design of many of their aircraft. After the First World War, he co-founded Hawker Aircraft, the firm that would later be responsible for a long series of successful military aircraft.
It is a biography as stated on the cover. The book is well readable and informative. It contains not too many but quite good photo illustrations. The best part of the book, in my opinion, is about doings of the young Harry George Hawker and his family in Australia, as well as about Hawker-Kauper's 1914 Australian tour. On the downside, there is very little factual information in the chapter which covers tremendous amount of work performed during the war years.
