This work integrates science with horticultural practice and explains why the well-known practices are sound. Concludes with a practical Handbook, Glossary, and Index.
Begins with a chapter on the historical relationship between people and plants, with taxa and classification details on the latter. The focus is on identification and use. For example, provides pictures and the labels needed in the comparative morphology of plant parts we use to group them. The Brassicas are highlighted. This chapter concludes with a Table of the "Nutrients in common foods" [14, charting calories, protein, fat, carbs and minerals].
