This was such an inspiring and informative book that I don’t even care that I didn’t recognize half of the names of the punk bands that the authors discuss. I know a lot about the punk movement, but it’s so random and changed so dramatically over the last 40-odd years (on a global scale no less) that it’s almost impossible to really know it all! What this book really reinforced though is that punk is whatever each individual defines it as; some might see it as a specific sound (pioneered by bands such as the Sex Pistols) and some might see it as a commentary on politics and suburban society, but when it comes down to it punk is whatever you make it - and it most assuredly is not dead!… (plus d'informations)
