MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Wow! Flame of Mercy takes readers on a rollercoaster ride that last from beginning to end! Lynnie Min is happy with being a wife and mother, until tragedy strikes and her life is totally changed. Lynnie struggles with many emotions, including that of a former friend who decides to betray her. Lonnie moved back to Canada to start life over, but these weird but realistic dreams she is having about Nigeria just won’t leave her.

This is a wonderful story, but sometimes it was very difficult to read. The excruciating hurtful pain was so real I could feel it through the pages. The emotions were everywhere. What Lynnie Min endured was more than any human could handle, but she had the hand of God on her. And her very strong faith brought here through when it seemed there was no way to keep going. This is a book everyone should read. Even thought it is full of heartwrenching tragedy, it is also full of hope in the God Lynnie knew. The God she trusted was faithful. Readers will see the love and faithfulness of God. They will see God’s hand on this character as she puts her total faith in the God she loves and trust. There are so many twists and turns in this book, making it seem so realistic. I highly recommend this book. For me, this is a Five Star read.… (plus d'informations)

A Flame of Mercy, by Eleanor Bertin, is part of the Mosiac Collection. This is a collection of stories written by different authors that offers hope, encouragement and shares the unconditional love of Jesus

This is an amazing story about Lynnie Min who traveled to Nigeria with her husband as missionaries. When he and their daughters were taken, she went home to her parents. While trying to make sense of the tragedy, she takes her grandmother’s suggestion and compiles her memories into a book to help her work through her grief.

While this is sometimes a hard story to read yet there are so many good parts. I enjoyed the differences between Lynnie’s grandmothers and appreciate both of their personalities. I enjoyed the love and care her family freely gave her, especially her parents making a private space for her. The interactions between her teacher and classmates was surprising, especially their thoughts on stay at home mom. It was also enjoyable to read of the happenings in Nigeria and the friends she had there.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

What an impactful story!

When I picked up this book with a pretty cover and interesting title, I had no idea how deeply it would pierce my heart. Flame of Mercy is a touching story of love, loss, faith, and forgiveness.

It is so easy to sink into this story and to connect with its main character, Lynnie Min. Like her, all I wanted when I was young was to be a wife and mother. Also like her, I experienced deep loss in my life, and her experiences (and reactions) brought mine to the surface and made my heart ache. I love a story that makes me feel deeply – whether its sadness, joy, amazement, or gratefulness. And this story made me feel it all.

There are so many touching moments in this story, and characters other than Lynnie that experience loss and sadness, but her faith through tragedy spoke loudest to me. I imagined myself in their situations and considered how I would’ve reacted. I also enjoyed the contrast in her grandmothers’ personalities. (We all know someone who fits their molds.)

I appreciate the author’s poetic and descriptive style of writing, and how the pacing builds nicely. Parts of the story drained me of tears and other parts filled me with glory. This is a faith-building, heart-filling, inspirational read.

Flame of Mercy by Eleanor Berlin is part of the Mosaic Collection. All Lynnie Min ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. She finds the opportunity for both through one of her college classmates. The two know they have found their soulmates. God leads them down a path to Nigeria. But when tragedy strikes, Lynnie finds herself back in Canada with pit her husband and daughters.

Meanwhile in Nigeria, Ihsan bin Ibrahim discover a child near the wreckage of a vehicle. He takes her home to his wife as an answer to his wife’s barrenness. This book illustrates the power of faith, family, and found the right thing even when it causes pain.

I loved how the characters and storylines come together in this book. I felt it moved at an excellent pace. So check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
