I'm really not sure how to review this one. It was a little over my head as it focused on the studies/exchanges between two very scholarly gentlemen - one Chinese, one American. They met in the 40's when the American was stationed in China with the Air Force. They worked together on a project of translating an old Chinese book of some kind. Forty years later the Chinese professor was in America and they got back together to continue working on their subjects. Full of comparisons of Chinese history and talk of what makes "Chineseness". Sorry, but it was a bit over my head, I couldn't keep the subjects discussed straight as I am weak on Chinese ancient history! Not a bad book if you like this kind of writing.
