Roman's Holiday was the first book in this series for me. I am and always will be a fan of romance books with the happily ever after. The author did a good job with these characters. It did take me a little longer to get into this book than usual. But once I did it was worth it and would recommend.
This is the first romance book that I have read dealing with the rich and famous. That is how this story starts off with Roman being burnt out of his career. He is a country and western singer that is tired of pleasing all the people all the time. He just wants some peace and quiet to think on his future and next move. He decides to jump in his car and just drive to get away and ends up in New Mexico much to the dismay of his manager. He stops at Kachina Cafe for a piece of pie and his whole world is turned upside down when he meets Lottie Beale. She recognizes him but doesn't let on because she has a secret of her own. She was an actor and has a famous family who she has been hiding out from and running a cafe. She likes the simple life. She was tired of the rich and famous life. They end up going on a wonderful adventure together and find out more than they bargained on the way. LOVE
Will they be able to overcome all of the obstacles in their lives to be together or will they become another sad country song???
If you are looking for a fun, quick, and clean romance book this is for you.
I recieved this book to read and review for an honest opinion.

You know when you're reading an older book when the documentary maker takes out his Betacam :).
The storyline was very simple: for him it's love at first sight and she wants to make her dreams of independence come true. Too simple probably, because a vast part of the book was filled with history lessons. I am very interested in Native American weaving, but not when I'm reading a romance novel so I skipped a lot. It brought the rating down to 2,5*.

I enjoyed this very much. I liked the voice, the plot and the characters. It's set in a small town, but luckily without the cast of bizarre characters most authors populate those with.
The road Meg has to travel to understand what she really wants and is capable of is believable, as is the romance with Jim, who knows exactly who he is and what he wants.
I'll certainly be reading more by this author.

Nice read about a young woman returning to a town that holds many uncomfortable memories. But falling in love with a long time friend helps her forget some of those memories and have her wanting to make new memories. Recommended.
