When this book was produced, states were just beginning to mark major highway with Route number signs. Maps in this book show lines between cities and towns with a route number. Each route has a detailed description of all the turns and forks in the road, sort of what your car gps would tell you today: Turn left at the red barn. Go 2 miles and turn
right. Ads for garages and hotels are at the appropriate sections of each route description. There are some detail maps of city centers.
