Nora Moss is a powerful witch. Levi Quinn is also a powerful witch. The two have been best friends since they were kids. Now, they are in business together. But this job is something different. They are entering a magical competition together under fake names. They have to beat some of the most elite witches in the world and they have a month to do it. No pressure or anything.

This story unfolds kind of slow at first. It drops the reader smack into a situation that takes some sorting out. It had me confused for a bit. But once the preliminaries are over the story starts heating up. In more than one way. Nora and Levi have been best friends forever. But they each have the hots for the other and don’t want to say so in case it screws everything up. Add in Nora’s ex-boyfriend who happens to be a vampire and whoa. Watch out. But wait! There’s another guy, mysterious Isak from Iceland, who would love to explore hot naked stuff with Nora even though she might already have her hands full. Go, Nora!

There are three tasks the competitors have to complete and since task one is covered in book one I’m going to make a logical guess that book two covers task two and book three, task three. There’s danger and magic and sex, oh my! Full of action, cool magic, and sexual tension, this is one you shouldn’t miss.

Skye Jones has a super wicked talent with computers and all things internet. Oh, yeah. She’s also a witch. She’s been hired by Aiden for a huge job in Alaska and while she can’t figure out why a tiny town in the middle of fucking nowhere needs so much additional privacy, it’s not her business. She’s been hired to do something she’s never even attempted before, so her worries about her unreliable magic are valid. Then there’s the hot guys. Nom nom nom! Skye’s a busy witch these days.

In the last book she accidentally did something witchy to one of the hot guys she’s banging and that book ended on a massive cliffhanger. This one picks up right where the other one left off and it’s very emotional. I was correct in my assessment of the last book. This book spills all the secrets and it gets hairy. Well, not hairy hairy, more like scaley. Because the hot sexy guys are sea dragons. Well, not just them. The entire village is populated with sea dragons. And witches have massacred dragons for centuries so that’s why they need Skye’s magic to create a protective barrier. Except Skye is a witch. See where I’m going with this? Not everyone is happy about Aiden’s decision to bring her, a witch, to the village. Shit is going down and Skye isn’t sure what’s going to happen to her or the men she’s come to love. Not as nasty a cliffhanger for this one as book 1, but it does leave the reader waiting to see what’s next.

Skye Jones took what she thought was a fairly simple IT job out in the middle of the wilds of Alaska and found herself in a whole heap of a mess. Along the way she collected three hot men for herself, got outed as a witch to the village, and found out sea dragons are not extinct. And then her estranged family had to stir up even more trouble when all Skye wants to do is practice her magic, keep the village safe, and love her men for the rest of their lives.

Wow! The conclusion to this trilogy is a whopper. There’s danger, love, hotness, magic, and so many feels! ALL the feels! I won’t give anything away, but I love these characters and am happy with how it all concluded.

Skye Jones was involved in an incident that went viral and now she’s exiled from her coven and shunned by her family. Well, except for her sister Alice. When Skye gets a job offer she jumps at the chance, flying all the way to a remote village in Alaska. Maybe here she can heal the hurts, make some money, and gain new friends. She had no idea she would be falling into a ménage with two nommy men.

Skye has secrets, the men have secrets, and it’s all these secrets that are going to cause all kinds of trouble. I normally hate these types of books where everyone is keeping secrets, but some things are hard to overcome. Especially when the very existence of a person (or people) depend on that secrecy. So, the secrets part is necessary for this to play out and after that whopper of a cliffhanger ending, I’m guessing book 2 is about to out everyone’s real quick and in a hurry.

I like the characters and the setting. The plot is a little shaky but I can deal with it. The sex is a bit quick, but Skye thought she only had two weeks there so why not jump some bones? Amirite? Especially Jack and Ty. Nom nom nom! A little Aiden action wouldn’t be turned down either. Skye’s family is shit. Except for Alice. I’m kinda hoping that Alice (and her hubby and kids) move to Alaska. It would be nice to see in book 2. Or even 3. I’d love a big ol’ fuck you to the coven and extended fam. Hehehe Since there is a massive cliffhanger at the end, be warned.

I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't realize that this was the first novel from this author until after I'd read it. Often you'll find errors in the flow or plot within an author's first, but that wasn't the case here. The story was gripping right from the start and held momentum all the way through. As Jason - a wolf shifter - introduced Emilia - a half-bear shifter - to a world and family she didn't know existed, we're taken on a wild ride of reluctance, belonging, a fair amount of satisfying sexiness, and that happy end we always hope to stumble across.

While there's a conclusion to this particular couple's story, there is an overreaching plot that will no doubt continue onto other books, so some ends are left hanging. I, for one, am eager to jump into the next.

This is the second in Zoe Ashwood's Shift series, and while it could possibly be read alone, it follows an overall plot from the first book and would make better sense read together.

I've come to really enjoy this shifter world the author has created. In this second book, while we're treated to learning more about characters we met previously, the focus is on Claire, a former spy, and Nik, a turned rebel. Their history while Claire was undercover - and a different name - and while Nik was an actual member of the guard, is unraveled as they both learn more about the organization that threatens everything they've come to hold sacred.

The power struggle between these two, and finding their common ground, made for a great read. I also really enjoyed the glimpses we got of another pairing (won't spoil that one!) throughout the book (hint - it was teased in the first one, too). A good deal of sexiness, sweetness, and belonging are delved into throughout.

Definitely looking forward to where we're taken in the third book, as this one ended with our characters running off into actiom yet again.
